Donations are making a huge difference
Generous charity donations from two community groups are already making a big difference to patients at Torbay Hospital.
Thanks to the amazing community spirit at the Ye Olde Roundham Club in Paignton, an outstanding £3,632 was raised for our Ricky Grant Day Unit through fundraising events including a 12‑hour pool marathon, a sponsored head shave and raffles which will help support local people who are receiving cancer treatment

Members of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes (RAOB), also based at Ye Olde Roundham Club, also generously donated £3,400 donation to our children’s emergency department, which will help enhance the care and comfort we provide to children and their families when they need us most.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who took part in the events and generously donated money to our charity.
Chloe’s hard work paid off at the London Marathon
Sister Chloe Harries, who works in our Medical Admissions Avoidance Team at Torbay Hospital, has completed the London Marathon, crossing the finish line in an incredible time of 4 hours, 47 minutes and 7 seconds.

Running the world‑famous race had been on Chloe’s bucket list for years, and it was fourth time lucky when she finally secured a place to run for our Torbay and South Devon NHS Charity.. After months of training and clocking up the miles, Chloe joined around 50,000 other runners to take on the challenge across the capital.
She says: “Torbay Hospital has been my home for almost 10 years. Last year, my nan was cared for there before she passed away, and the compassion shown to her and to us as a family, was unforgettable. Running for Torbay Hospital is my way of saying thank you. I can’t think of a better way to mark 10 years than by running the London Marathon for Torbay and South Devon NHS Charity.”
Every donation will help fund the big and little things that make a difference to our patients, their families and the staff that treat them. Chloe smashed her fundraising target and has raised an incredible £3,210. You can still donate by clicking on her Just Giving page.
