Welcome to our February edition of Healthy Futures.
Earlier this month, the NHS published its new National Cancer Plan, and I’m proud that so much of what it sets out – earlier diagnosis, faster access, world class research, and more personalised treatment – is already part of the reality our teams are creating here in Torbay and South Devon.
Like the national NHS 10 Year Plan, which was published last year, we’re already achieving so much of the government’s ambition, from getting people diagnosed and beginning treatment as quickly as possible, to leading the way with exciting new research trials which will hopefully spearhead how cancer is treated in the future.
